Retriever Training -   $450.00 per month (includes boarding / does not include any veterinary costs incurred or birds purchased for training)

We take retrievers from the ideal age of 7 months to 18 months and provide:

- Basic obedience training - Sit, Stay, Come and Heel.

- Basic retriever training 

         - Dog shall proceed quickly and eagerly on land or into the water to marked falls.

         - Dog will deliver clean retrieve to handler. Upon returning to the line, a dog shall deliver the bird promptly and tenderly to its handler.

          - Dog shall be able to perform basic double mark and blind retrieves (take a line and hunt for dead birds)

Dog at the end of this training should have the ablity to perform as a started hunting gun dog.

Basic obedience and retriever training averages 2 to 4 months

Live birds will be used in training for marks and blinds in addition to the dummy work at an additional cost of $4.50 per bird.  We average approximately 6 - 7 birds per month.

- Advanced retriever training

         - Dog shall be able to perform all basic retriever training 

In addition the dog will be able to perform advanced marking and blind retrieves

This includes:

          - Able to handle multiple dogs and gunners along with other diversions

         - Whistle trained for Stop, Sit and Come

         - Three handed cast on both land and water

         - Double "T" drill that uses the the three handed cast technique.

Advance retriever training averages 9 months to 1 year

Live birds will be used in training for marks and blinds in addition to the dummy work at an additional cost of $4.50 per bird.  We average approximately 6 - 7 birds per month.
